Douglas ‘Doug’ Gordon Green

March 17, 1968~March 09, 2020

Douglas Gordon Green “Bulldog”, age 51 of Jacksonville, Florida drove his last load on March 9, 2020 when injuries sustained in a rollover crash in his semi took his life.
Doug was a lifelong area resident of Jacksonville, born to the late Lucy Ann Green. He spent many years trucking where he was always ready to loader up and hammer down to get the job done. Family and friends were a top priority for him and he didn’t hesitate to lend a helping hand or tell a funny joke to create a smile. He loved to wet a line, drive the trails and work on cars. Doug was loved by many and will be missed dearly. Doug is survived by his biggest fan and loving wife of 24 years, Susan, four children, Stephanie and her husband Ryan Baird, Kyle Green, Nikolai “Jesse” Starling and Mandi Green. Additional survivors are his two sisters; Robin Green and Billyjo Brinkman.
Visitations for family and friends will be held, Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 10:00am – 12:00pm in the chapel of Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32221. Doug would like to say 10-4 as he keeps on trucking the highway to Heaven. For Kathy Nicewander – Friend Bryan and I are very sorry for the loss of Doug. I know words can never be enough when you lose someone you love, just know we are here for you always. RIP Doug. March 21, 2020 Lisa Wagner – Family Friend We are shocked and saddened by your loss. Doug was good man with wicked sense of humor and we will always remember him. We love you all and we wish we could find the words to comfort you. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are here for you if you need us. March 18, 2020 Jay & Becky Nagy – Friends I woke up to some sad news… One of my biggest brothers on my Truck driving career side lost his life Monday night in a accident…. I met Doug Green back in 2008 write after I got laid off from AAA Cooper in Jville. We started with BP Express at the same time. Man he taught me so much. Just about everything I know about Operating a Tractor/Trailer and being a Owner/Operator. Doug knew everything!! He was a big dude too.He could clear a room in a matter of seconds.. He was the brother you wanted by your side when something hit the fan.Lol We had some good times 💪❤️…. He took a break from the over the road and we lost touch for a few years but I always kept track of him through another brother of mine.. Scott Dickson Sr.. We had recently linked back up since he had came back out on the road… I pray so hard for his wife and kids, he loved so much. He was so proud of all his kids and his Wife…. ‘Doug, I just want to say I love you brother and you be safe and we will look out after your kids and Family’… 💪♥️🚛🇺🇸😔 March 18, 2020 Nereida Cirino – Friend&Neighbor TO DOUG’S BELOVED WIFE SUSAN AND CHILDREN: MARCH 10, 2020 OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. WE ARE SO SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR HUSBAND AND FATHER. HE WAS A GOOD PERSON, WITH A HEART OF GOLD FOR HIS NEIGHBORS. HE WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO WELCOME MY HUSBAND AND I AS NEIGHBORS MORE THAN TWENTY YEARS AGO. I MYSELF HAD A FEELING OF SAFETY WHENEVER HE WAS HOME FROM HIS TRAVELLING EMPLOYMENT AS AN INTERSTATE TRUCK DRIVER. WE KNEW THAT IF WE EVER NEEDED HIM FOR ANYTHING, HE WOULD RESPOND. I REALIZE THAT THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH COMFORT OR WORDS THAT COMPENSATE FOR YOUR LOSS AT THIS MOMENT BUT KNOW OUR LOSS FOR HIM AS A CLOSE FRIEND OF MY FAMILY IS DEEPLY FELT AND WE ARE FILLED WITH SORROW AND REGRET, JUST AS YOU. WE WILL NEVER FORGET HIS KINDNESS. MAY GOD GIVE HIM ETERNAL REST AND YOUR FAMILY THE STRENGTH TO BEAR THE GREAT PAIN. SUSAN, I KNOW THERE IS VERY LITTLE COMFORT FOR YOU AT THIS TIME AND MOMENT BUT I WANTED TO SHARE THIS LOVELY POEM WITH YOU TO EASE YOUR PAIN: “IF I SHOULD GO BEFORE THE REST OF YOU, BREAK NOT A FLOWER NOR INSCRIBE A STONE NOR WHEN I’M GONE SPEAK IN A SUNDAY VOICE BUT BE THE USUAL SELVES THAT I HAVE KNOWN. WEEP IF YOU MUST, PARTING IS HELL – BUT LIFE GOES ON, SO SING AS WELL.” FROM THE FAMILY OF RAMON AND NEREIDA (YOUR NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS) March 17, 2020 Visitation Details Fraser Funeral Home 8168 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32221
