Ismail Abdul Hafiz Momodu was born deaf to the union of Bashir Momodu (father) and Linda Momoh-Momodu (Mother) on May 6, 1979 in Kalamzoo, MI. He was known by his close family and friends as ‘Hafiz’. With the encouragement and patience of his mother, teachers, and speech therapists, Hafiz learned to read lips and communicate by speaking and the use of sign language.
After his parents divorced, Hafiz moved with his mother to Florida where he spent the remainder of his years. Hafiz did not use his inability to hear as a crutch but instead fought through the differences to become a graduate of Everett High School in Lansing, MI, Class of 1998; And Faith Christian University near Orlando Florida, Class of 2019.
Hafiz was baptized and received Christ early in life. He is survived by both of his parents, 3 sisters, nieces and nephew. He departed this life on the 25th of August, 2020 in Jacksonville, FL. He is loved and will truly be missed. Rest in perfect peace.
