Ricardo Cummings was born on May 3, 1950 and passed away on September 19, 2020. He was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico. He was the third oldest son of 11 brothers and sisters. He serviced in the US Navy and the US Army. To some he was known as a father, husband, brother, son, uncle, godfather and grandfather. To other her was known as Ric, Chico and Magic. He had a love for college football, the FSU Seminoles were his favorite team as well as his grandson Dominic and son in law. He loved and enjoys family football games when it came to the rival team his children/grandchildren loved (UM Hurricanes). His family was his passion and his life. From family games night to playing cards, family baseball games/cookout, play Bingo, watching and challenging his kids and grandkids on Jeopardy, Ricardo never stopped loving his family. He always made sure that he was there when we needed him and for his grandkids when he became the best math tutor ever. He was an avid parishioner at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in which he attended the early 8 AM masses in the front pew and Midnight Mass. You would always see him watching John Wayne movies because he loved “The Duke”. He was a very smart man who had a Bachelor’s Degree in Science for Project Management and he also was an Environmental Engineer. In his career he helped work on many improvements to different constructions around the city of Jacksonville. He is preceded in death by his father Guillermo and his two brothers Willie and Wilfredo “Papo”. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Virgen, his 3 children Ricardo (Lisa), Alex (Cynthia), Vanessa (Cliff) and his 8 grandchildren, his mother Mercedes, his brothers: Guillermo Jr (Josefina), Walter (Marissa), Robinson, Raymond (Missy) and Johnny; his sisters: Maria (Hector), Ivette, Wanda (Rudy) and Wanda-Ivette and several nieces and nephews. The service will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Fraser Funeral Home with US Navy honors. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Visitation Details
