DeLane P. Sills, 47, a lifetime resident of Jacksonville, FL passed away on November 7, 2020. She was born on March 12, 1973, daughter of Ted and Elaine (Vining) Sills. She will be deeply missed by her parents, Ted, and Elaine Sills; devoted son, Colson Sills; brother, Judson T. Sills; and a host of other relatives and friends. DeLane graduated from Greater Jacksonville Christian School and the University of North Florida. In addition, she attended and played college basketball at Florida State College (formerly known as Florida Community College at Jacksonville), attended Faulkner University, and finished her playing career at Auburn University at Montgomery. She was employed as a schoolteacher with the Duval and Clay County School Board for over 19 years. During her tenure, she was the Women’s Head Basketball Coach at Middleburg High School, Bradford High School, Matthew Gilbert Middle School, Ridgeview Middle School, Bradford Middle School, and Stillwell Middle School where she also served as Athletic Director. She was a loving mother, daughter, and sister who loved her family with all her heart. DeLane, a Christian, was a member of Ramona Blvd. Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on November 17, 2020, at 12:00 pm at Fraser Funeral Home located at 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32221, with Rev. Roy Vining, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park under the care of Fraser Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one prior to the services.

My condolences and prayers to The Sills family. DeLane was one of those I looked up to when I was a student at Greater Jacksonville Christian School. She will be dearly missed by us all and from those in the Senior Class of 1991 that she was a part of.
