Ernestine Marie Hammett Ellis, 87, passed away peacefully into the arms of God on May 13, 2021. She was born September 23, 1933 in Bainbridge, GA to Beulah Lindsey Hammett and Tallie Hammett; although she was raised in Jacksonville by her mother, Beulah and stepfather, TW Bryant. Ernestine and her beloved husband, Pat, raised their 6 children in the Baptist faith at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Ernestine was a full-time homemaker while also working for Jacksonville Livestock Market for 18 years. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them and close friends. She also really enjoyed working in her yard. Ernestine is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, her daughter Susan (Bunny), and her sons, Keith and Timmy. She is survived by her son, Randy (Janet), her daughters, Dianne Miller (Jack) and Becky Foster (Larry), grandsons, Nathan, Josh, Jordan and Brinson and granddaughter, Olivia, great-grandsons, Caleb, Wyatt, Maddox and great-granddaughters, Vera and Pearson, and dear sister-in-law, Lorain Fowler, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be handled by Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11:00 am and visitation for family and friends will be at 10:00 am.
