Mildred Jane Bridges Kennington, 75, a resident of Jacksonville passed away on October 14, 2021. She was born on June 20, 1946 in Gainesville, FL, the daughter of Otis and Mildred Bridges. She was preceded in death by her father, Otis Bridges, her mother, Mildred Bridges, and her grandson, Cameron William Lewis.
She graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1964. She furthered her education at Jones Business College. She graduated in 1966 with an Associate’s Degree in Business. She was a dedicated employee of Dixie Bearings, Inc. from April 1966 to January 2020. She had a strong work ethic rising early in the morning to start before 8 and stayed after closing.
Jane was a former member of Ramona Boulevard Baptist Church and Westside Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She and her husband attended Rise Church where she enjoyed sitting with her daughters and grandchildren.
Jane loved spending time with her family which included Sunday night dinners. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, always thinking of others first.
Jane is survived by her devoted and caring husband of forty-six years, Paul Kennington, daughters, Tracey Kennington, Sarah (Kenneth) Lewis, and Paula (Tyrone) Bell, grandchildren, William Bell, Madison Bell, Savanna Bell, Harleigh Bell and Cara Jane Lewis. Her siblings, Dick (Janet) Bridges, Nancy Freeman, Ellen (Hazel) Boyd, and Mack (Joan) Bridges, and her nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to request that donations be made to Community Hospice (communityhospice.com) or similar organization.
