Benjamin Mayhew Lundy, 86 passed away, Wednesday October 20, 2021 following a series of extended
illnesses. He was a longtime resident Jacksonville and North Florida Area.
He was born December 3, 1934, to parents Benjamin David Lundy and Annie Bell Cook Lundy in Wing,
Alabama. Benjamin, also known as Mayhew to the family and many friends was a truckdriver by trade,
employed by Terminal Transport America, Consolidated Freightways and Ranger. He was a lifetime
member of the Teamsters Local #512 and was also a member of the Highland First Baptist Church of
Lawtey, Florida
Benjamin Mayhew was preceded in death by his wife Josephine ‘Mickey’ McBride Lundy, and two
daughters, Robin Lee and Tanya Devonne, parents Benjamin David Lundy and Annie Bell Cool Lundy,
three brothers George, Floyd, Henry W. and a sister Betty Dean Elliot and one Grandchild Danielle N. Lundy
Suvivors include his three children Benjamin Joseph Lundy, Tracey(Bruce M) Sayles and Sharon
(Kenny) Hough, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Viewing is scheduled for Monday, October 25, 2021 at 11:00 am with services to be held at 12:00, at
Highland First Baptist Church, 1395 Hwy 301, N., Lawtey, FL 32058. Graveside services and interment will
be held at Beda Cemetery, Wing, Alabama on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations may be made to Community Hospice,Nemours
Children’s Hospital and/or Highland Baptist Church.
