On February 21, 2022, we lost our AWESOME brother Chester (Chett) Frederick Brooks he was born in Alachua County Gainesville Florida April 18, 1960, he came to live in Jacksonville Florida in 1962 when he was 2 years old. He graduated from Nathan Bedford Forrest High School in 1978 where he continued his career at Pizza Inn as a manager where he was there for many years until he joined the Papa John’s Team in 1998 opening the Normandy Blvd location as the General Manager where he was happily employed up until he passed away unexpectedly. He not only grew to love and bond with his employees but his customers as well. He was also an avid bowler at Cassatt Batt Bowl and Phoenix Lanes. He was a die-hard Florida Gators fan which is one of the many passions he shared with his family. He never married or had kids, but he considered his many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews as his own. Uncle Chett’s Famous words were “Who love dat baby?”, “Uncle Chett do!”. Chett was always the life of the party no matter what his sense of humor and smile could light up a room. Spending time with Family meant everything to Chett from karaoke every Saturday night to badminton Sunday afternoons.
He was preceded in death by his mama and dad, brother and two nephews. He is survived by one brother and four sisters and 25 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews, 3 great great nieces and nephews.

My condolences goes out to the entire Brooks family, I was friends with Chett, Michael and Michelle. When Chett Would enter a room he would always light it up with a big smile and loving attitude, he never met a stranger, one of the fondest memories I have of Chett was going to Atlanta with him and Michael for a SEC championship game for Gator’s. I lost touch with Chett after moving to Atlanta and Frankfurt Germany. But I always held high regard for one of the best friends I ever had and that was Chett, he was a true friend. He was truly a family man, his family meant everything to him. Rest in peace my friend. Again I offer my condolences to the entire Brooks family on the sudden loss of Chett. Your friend Larry
