Reflections of Life

We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Virginia during her lifetime with us. Some of the important things she taught us was to live life however you want, laugh often and dance along the way, and that’s exactly what she did.

God blessed the world and her parents; Catherine Spillman and
Nathaniel Hector with her presence on August 16, 1935. Virginia moved to Mount Vernon, NY in 1942; where she attended and graduated from Nicholas High School. She later moved to Paterson, New Jersey in 1952. Virginia was an active member of Greater Bethel Church of Christ for many years where the late Bishop Frazier was her pastor. She worked at Spotless Cleaners and a weaving factory for 4 years. In 1973, she worked at Thomas English Muffin, where she retired in 1993. In 2020, Virginia relocated to Jacksonville, FL with her family. She departed life on Friday, March 4, 2022.

She joins her predeceased husband, Samie Ganey, her children, Allan James, and Hattie Friday, sister, Lana Campbell and brothers, John and Roosevelt Spillman. She leaves behind to cherish her memories two sons, Eugene James from Paterson, New Jersey (residing in Jacksonville, FL) and Jerry Ganey Booker from Summerville, Georgia, sister, Margie Gardiner-Midgin, brother, Montana Spillman, sister-in-law Estelle Spillman, daughters- in-law, Shirley James, Machelle Booker, Paulette Jacobs and son in-law, Rommel Friday. Along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
