August 05, 1944~April 03, 2022

Gussie King, 77, passed away at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital on Sunday, April 3, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Gussie was born on August 5, 1944 in Jacksonville , FL and was the daughter of Robert Thomas Spicer Sr and Hazel Mae McGee Spicer. She is preceded in death by her husband Lewis King Sr, son Lewis King Jr, parents Robert Thomas Spicer Sr and Hazel Mae Spicer, sister Bobbie Jean Nipper, and brother Robert Thomas Spicer II.
She is survived by her sons, Troy King Sr (Lori) and Tracy King (Tammy); grandchildren- Ashley Norton (Daniel Sr), Troy King Jr (Consuella), Brittany King, and Amber Allen (Matthew); great grandchildren- Daniel Norton Jr, Gabriel Norton, Abigail King, Serenity Allen, Athena Allen, and Caspian Allen. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a large, loving church family.

Her greatest love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and she wasn’t afraid or ashamed to talk about Him or proclaim His greatness wherever she went. She absolutely loved to talk about the Bible. She could spend hours just talking about things pertaining to the Lord. She was a mighty prayer warrior and she prayed daily for her family, friends, lost loved ones, even strangers she’s never met. She loved going to church, gospel sings, going out to eat, and fellowship with other people. The song that got her through trials and trying times was the song “Amazing Grace”. She loved that hymn and the 23rd Psalm. She looked forward to her Heavenly home and we pray that we will meet again one day on that crystal shore of the Jordan River. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, she requests that donations be made to Zoar SCM Church.
