Steven Frank Martin

September 16, 1958~July 01, 2022

Steven Frank Martin Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the age of 63. After several years of declining health living with congestive heart failure and kidney failure, Steven passed away abruptly from a cardiac arrest.

Steven (Steve) was born in Tampa, Florida on September 16, 1958. Steve was adopted by parents Frank C. Martin and Valerie N. Scheid, and his stepmother Yvonne Martin of Belleview, Florida. He was blessed to spend his days growing up in Belleview, Florida alongside his siblings, Pat, Terry, Jana, and Gene, where many memories were made with friends and family at their family home. Steven joined the Navy at the age of 18 where he served two terms. It is prior to his enlistment in the Navy, where he met his wife of 44 years, Denise Martin. Upon his time in serving in the Navy, Steve met many great friends that would come to be lifelong friends and be by his side through the many memories of his life. Upon being honorably discharged from the Navy, Steve worked as a Network Data Analyst on the NAS Jax Military Base as a civilian before retiring.

Prior to health issues arising, Steve enjoyed coaching baseball, playing golf, bowling, reading the bible, building a close relationship with God, and spending time with his family. He was a jokester, and some would say he even had a big kid at heart personality, with a loving intent in his nature. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and spent his days wishing for more time to be able to spend with his family.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Gene Goolsby. He is survived by his wife Denise Donals Martin; children Steven Frank Martin Jr. and Franchesca Marie Williams; Daughter in law, Samaly Martin and Son in Law, Jonathan Williams; 4 grandchildren Natalie Martin, Lydia Martin, Blake Williams, and Taleia Martin.

I have many memories with my dad growing up and looking back on those memories, I recall the day to day things he did to make sure I was able to succeed in life. Like supporting me in pageants, modeling, karate, trying to teach me softball, although I was really bad at sports. He also played board games, tea parties, and ate my plastic food from my play kitchen. I drove him nuts to play mall madness over and over again with me. He shared his time with me when I needed him. That is what made him my Dad, he loved his family unconditionally. Without his presence, I would not be the person I became. Until we meet again Dad, Rest in Peace. Love your Daughter, Franchesca
