Tami Elaine Ganey

November 10, 1964~March 08, 2023

Tami Elaine Ganey, age 58, passed away peacefully at her home on March 8, 2023. Tami was born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 10, 1964 to her parents, Robert Eugene Waters, Sr. and Elizabeth Elaine Edmonds Waters.

Tami was a graduate of Trinity Christian Academy, majored in piano pedagogy at Florida Junior College, and taught private piano lessons for a time. Music was part of her soul and she used her talent to serve the Lord at Blanding Boulevard Baptist Church. Before her health declined, Tami was the church pianist and director of the Junior Choir. She also played the organ, taught Sunday School, coordinated weddings and banquets, sang solos and duets and even had a major role as an actress in a dramatic production.

Tami also enjoyed floral arranging, calligraphy, entertaining and was an avid scrapbooker. She enjoyed vacations at Disney World, Ponte Vedra Inn, Summerhouse, and romantic getaways in Ocala, Florida. She loved her little dog, Cody, her grand collection of miniature pianos, and all professional baseball, especially the New York Yankees.

Tami touched the hearts of multiple hundreds over several decades as she used her incredible sensitivity to the needs of others to send cards uniquely fitted to every occasion. So many recipients expressed the sentiment that a card from Tami arrived right when they needed it most. When they did, Tami ALWAYS gave the credit to JESUS!

Tami was preceded in death by her father, Gene Waters and a brother, Robert Waters, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Keith Ganey, her 14 year old daughter, Macy Ganey, and her mother, Elaine Waters.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Blanding Blvd. Baptist Church, 5005 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl 32210 with Rev. David Adair officiating followed by interment in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 800 Hammond Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl 32221. The family will receive friends at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl 32221 on Thursday, March 16, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.

Keith, Macy, and Elaine, Our hearts are broken for you. I know that my sadness can’t compare to yours. Tami was a faithful friend with a heart for God. I remember our trips to Tar-jay and her love for my kids. God gave her so many talents and gifts. I was just thinking about her a couple weeks ago and hoping I would get to see her when we come to Florida in a few weeks. I know that there no words that can heal a broken heart, but know that we love you and will be praying for you all.
