Dyal – Robert M. “Bobby” Dyal, 76 was called home to glory March 7th, 2023. No more pain, no more suffering. He has now been made whole in God’s presence.
Bobby was a Christian of the Baptist faith and attended Hope For Life Baptist Church when his health permitted.
Bobby served as a Sergeant in the Special Forces Reserve for 3 years where he excelled at parachuting from planes which was a passion of his. He was Honorably Discharged to begin his full time career with the Railroad working with several Rail companies over his 30 years of service, working as a yard man, switching box cars and later becoming a conductor with Amtrak until his retirement. The Railroad was a special kind of family where friendships were developed and kept.
He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and seemed to always have one until his health kept him from it. He had a love of travel, often doing road trips on his motorcycle even attempting the 1,000 mile trip challenge in 24 hours at one time. He was always up for riding as long as he could do so.
He is survived by his partner and loving wife of 38 years, Dorenda, whom he loved dearly. He always said he could never ask for a better partner in life. He also left three children behind, whom he thought the world of, Wendie, Chris and Darris (Nicole) as well as 4 grandchildren.
He left behind many friends who cared for and loved him and will miss him greatly.
I wish to thank his Hospice team at St. Vincent’s Riverside for the care they gave my husband during his final days. They kept him comfortable beyond measure as his days were coming to an end. I also want to thank my dearest friend, Roberta Connell, who I consider to be the older sister I never had and love so dearly. I could never have done this so gracefully without her during this time in my life. She has been my rock. I’m not sure where I would have been without her support. She has been by my side since we met. I love her dearly.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Bobby’s honor to Hope For Life Baptist Church 7725 Ramona Blvd. W. Jacksonville, Florida 32221.
Friends and Family are welcome to join us for a celebration of Bobby’s life March 10th from 4 PM – 7 PM at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32221. Phone: 904-781-4314.

I wish I could have spent more time with Bobbie before his passing. I hadn’t known him very long but he was so kind and pleasant to be around. He had the best stories and was just happy to be apart of his family’s life. The first time I met him I had sat back and observed him for a while – he had the biggest smile on his face watching his family. Seeing those he loved happy seemed to bring so much contentment. That’s a rare feat to find in a person these days. He will be dearly missed but I truly believe he will still be around – watching over those he called family with a full heart and a beautiful smile ❤️

My prayers go out to each of you. Bobby and Dorenda accepted my daughter, Brandi into their life and made a great impression on her. Through out her life here on earth, they was always supportive with her, even in times of disagreement.
May the Lord ease ur pain, for I know my words will not. And I am thankful Taylor has fond memories with her Poppa (Bobby) and her Nana ( Dorenda) .
Bobby & Dorenda was always good to us and I know my daughter held a special place in their heart and that speaks volumes to me.
Much love and prayers to each of you.
