Berney S. Armstrong was born at home in Jacksonville on September 1st, 1930. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1949 and furthered his education at Bob Jones University where he graduated with a BA in 1954. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1954 and continued his higher education through Luther Rice Seminary where he received an additional bachelor’s degree, a M. Div & D.R. Min 1964 & 1978 respectively. He was happily married to Amanda S. Armstrong for 58 years and had a son Bruce, and a daughter Kay.
Dad loved good music and taught music in the public schools for several years. He served on staff at several Baptist Churches including Terry Parker Baptist Church, East 44th Street Baptist Church, & Marietta Baptist Church. He served at Whitehouse Baptist Church as pastor for 7 years & West Meadows Baptist Church for 30 years.
