Betty Karen Johns Sampson, 76, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on June 7, 2022. Betty was born in Jacksonville on January 21, 1946 to Talmage Johns, Sr and Virginia Allen Johns. She spent the majority of her life in Jacksonville, attending Paxon High School. She had a long banking career of over 25 years at Florida National Bank and its successors. Betty was dedicated to family and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Talmadge Johns Jr; sisters, Merle Johns, Joyce Hendrick and Judy Moody.
Betty is survived by her brother, Jerry Johns of Valrico, FL; children, Gerald Sampson, Jr of Austin, TX, Michelle Miller of Middleburg, Kevin Sampson of Jacksonville, and Shannon Traylor of St. Petersburg; son-in-law, Larry Traylor of St. Petersburg; grandchildren, Caisey Miller of Orange Park and Jennifer Miller of Middleburg; nephew, Chip Hendrick of Jacksonville; nieces, Alecia Wendland of Daytona and Leila Moody-Grant of Virginia.
A memorial service will be held for Betty on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00am at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32221.
