Bob Villamor Gerona, who passed away on July 5, 2021, was born June 17, 1933, in Tacloban, Philippines to Francisco Gerona and Juana Villamor. He was the youngest in a large family and was the only male child to survive the Japanese invasion during World War II. During that time, American Servicemen he met made an impression that shaped his life. Determined, he attended Far East University ROTC, as a cadet, and would later enlist in the United States Navy and an American Citizen. In his 25 years of service to our country, he was involved with two conflicts: Korea and Viet-Nam, before he retired from Master Jet Base, NAS Cecil Field. His greatest love was his family. He was passionate about tennis, boxing, body building, chess, dancing, gardening, and demonstrated great culinary skills. He won many Tennis championship titles in singles and doubles. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus and elevated to the rank of Sgt. of Arms. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, and Yolanda, aka “Yoly or Tweetie,” his wife of over 50 years, and his eldest daughter, Remy. He is survived by his children, Christina (Godwin), Brian (and Carla), Jason (and Julie), Gina (and Bill MacDowell), Jenifer (and Chris Adams); 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
