Obituary -Mary Carolyn Taylor Pires
August 13,1959-January 29,2023
Mary Carolyn Taylor Pires- Heaven needed another angel so the Lord called her home on January 29,2023. She was 63 years old. Carolyn was born to Joseph B. and Mary F. Taylor in Jacksonville FL on August 13,1959.
Along with her parents, Carolyn was preceded in passing by her brother, Joe Taylor, maternal Grandparents, Worth and Minnie Taylor, of Lakeland FL.; and her paternal grandparents, Joseph B., Jr. and Rosetta Taylor, of Jacksonville FL.
Carolyn grew up in Jacksonville FL. and attended Normandy Village Elementary, Stillwell Middle School, and then graduated form Ed White High School in 1977. She then went on to FCCJ Community College where she obtained her Associates degree in buisness management.
On January 12, 1991, Carolyn married Christoper L. Pires, a Gunner’s Mate/ Aviation Ordinance in the Navy. Then, nine short months later, she gave birth to her one and only son, Brandon T. Pires. Her dream of motherhood had come true. She was a stay at home mom for 5 years.
Carolyn rejoined the workforce in 1995, where she had many different jobs but she found her true calling in healthcare in 2003. She had a love for people. She was a caretaker not only for her parents/family but for many patients as well. Carolyn dedicated her life to helping others. She wanted them to feel better, to know they are loved, to know that Jesus loved them too, and that they mattered. She included everyone everywhere she went.
Throughout her life, she had many interests. She loved football, Elvis, and Jesus. She wore her Florida Gator and Miami Dolphin attire in and out of season to show her support for the sport she loved. Elvis was her most favorite musician of all. She would blast his music in her house, especially, while cleaning. She loved The King of Rock n Roll but not as much as she loved The King of Kings. Carolyn loved the Lord Jesus Christ and gave her life over to Him at an early age. She attended Westside Baptist Church with her huband and son.
Carolyn is survived by her son Brandon T. Pires and his wife Katelyn of Jacksonville FL. Her two grandchildren Mia and Levi Pires of Jackosnville FL.
Other survivors include, her sister-in-law Alice Taylor of Oxford GA, nieces and nephews, Joe Taylor and his wife Sherry of Waverly GA, Teresa Robertson and her husband James of Oxford GA, Tracy Lane and her husband Hugh of Kingsland GA. In addition, her many beloved cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 12:00pm in the chapel of Fraser Funeral Home, 81268 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl 32221 with Rev. Ray Mayfield officiating followed by interment in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
