Catherine Ann (Bailey) Hawn, a retired Registered Nurse, formerly from Columbus, Indiana has been a 34-year resident of Jacksonville, Fl.; She died on January 28, 2021 at the age 0f 77 after a short-term battle with lung cancer. Catherine is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hawn, age 78; a son, Bradley J. Hawn (Delores), age 57; a daughter, Rachel Michelle Canaday (Jody), age 56; another daughter, Rebecca Jean Anderson (Kevin), age 51. She is predeceased Byher father, Calvin Bailey; and her mother Lorene Bailey. She is also predeceased by sister, Margaret Mayhugh, brother Hubert Bailey, Half-brother Harold Bailey, and grandchild Ethan Tyler Anderson. She also has a brother, Charles Bailey and a half sister Virginia Mays, and half-brother Carl Grooms. She has 8 grandchildren: David Hawn, Sarah Miller, Heather Hawn, Brian Dreher, Noah Dreher, Christine Lee, Kimberly Lee and Alexander Lee. There are 3 great grandchildren; Andrew Hawn, Adelina Hawn and Caleb Miller. Catherine was born in Columbus, Indiana on March 6, 1943 to Calvin and Lorene Bailey. She graduated from Columbus Sr. High School in 1961. She graduated from Nursing School in 1993 with an R.N. Degree. She married Kenneth E. Hawn on May 19, 1962 in Columbus, IN. They have lived in the same house since 1987. Catherine was very much involved in the gospel ministry. She was a pastor’s wife in four different churches. She was also a partner in two different missionary assignments in the Philippines. In recent years her life has been centered on helping her children and grandchildren to live fruitful lives. She attended the Westside Baptist Church for several years and a few months ago moved her membership there. A funeral service is scheduled for February 22. There will a visitation at 10:30 A.M. At Westside Baptist Church and a gravesite service at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Ray Mayfield will be officiating. Flowers may be sent to the Frasier Funeral Home.

I will always cherish our friendship we were like sisters . I wish to meet her again someday and rejoice together. We had such great times together getting her packed to move to the Philippines. Raising our kids together and making friends for our familys together. My life is richer by knowing her.
