County, Texas on November 11, 1933. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Tennant, Jr., her daughter, Joanne Tenberg Lange, her parents Joe and Lilie Bednar (Pielchiek) and five siblings. Jean is survived by three children, Clyde W. Tenberg, Jr., Edward D. Tennant (Cristine), and Sherri D. Taylor. She was blessed with ten grandchildren – Lindsey M. Tenberg, Christopher R. Tenberg (Karen), Matthew F. Taylor (Michelle), Corey M. Tennant (Amanda), Gina M. Eckhardt (Richard Tate), Jeffrey T. Taylor (Akayla), Riley S. Tennant, Karley M. Tenberg, Chase E. Tennant, Danielle J. Tenberg, and seven great-grandchildren.
Jean grew up in LaGrange, Texas, started her family and career in Ft. Worth and San Antonio, Texas. She and George moved to Jacksonville in 1961. She retired after a long, successful career with Ford Motor Company. Jean was devoted to her faithful Pekingnese companion Princess, was an ardent ballroom dancer into her 60s, loved fishing, reading, needlework, and travelling, spending time with her fellow Elk and Shriner friends, working in her yard, lunching with her Red Hat ladies and cooking for her family. Her big heart, twinkling brown eyes, hard squeeze hugs and molasses cookies were loved and will be missed. Services will be held at Fraser Funeral Home followed by burial at Riverside Memorial Gardens and reception at the Edward Tennant home.
