Jason Matthew Roberts, loving husband and father of two, passed away on August 15, 2021 at the age of 39.
Jason was born on November 29, 1981 in Jacksonville, Florida, and was raised in Jacksonville and Fleming Island by his parents, Mark and Tina Robinson. He graduated from Clay High School and received his Associate’s Degree from St. Johns River Community College before transferring to Florida State University. Jason was a talented business leader, building and managing restaurant teams across the country.
As a lifelong fan of the Florida State Seminoles and Jacksonville Jaguars, Jason’s happy place was in a stadium cheering on the Jags and ‘Noles with his family. He was passionate about bringing his family and friends together to laugh over a big meal – always stealing the show with his award-winning barbeque and famous cheesecake. He met a friend anywhere he went and was always able to put a smile on people’s faces with his constant jokes, sarcasm, and generally outrageous antics.
Jason met his wife, Sara, 15 years ago and quickly fell in love with her heart for people. They were married in 2007 and had two children, Jason Jr. and Haylee, who were the light of his life.
Jason is survived by his wife Sara; their two children, Jason Jr. and Haylee; fur-children, Lucy, Leroy, and Gertrude; parents, Mark and Tina; siblings, Emily (Jason) Nalepa, Mallory (Blake) Grosdidier, Kacey (JD) Crutchfield, and Adam Robinson; nephews and nieces, Carson, Landon, Adilyn, Laynie, Tenley, Hadley, Makayla, Mackenzie, Hope, Matthew, Mark, Abigail, and Ashlynn; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins; and grandmothers, Etta Molley Officer and Lila Jewell Robinson.
Jason was generous in everything he did, whether in sharing gifts with those he loved or serving his community. Animals have always held a special place in his heart, and anyone who knew him knows how precious his dogs were to him and his family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to some of Jason’s favorite organizations: Safe Animal Shelter of Clay County, Camp Sunshine, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
There will be a closed private graveside service on Wednesday, August 25th. Flowers may be sent to Fraser Funeral Home. The family is planning a Celebration of Life event for friends and family to celebrate and remember Jason. Details to follow.

So sorry you left us so soon. You were always willing to lend a hand and add that bit of dry humor to any situation. You will be missed my friend.

I had the pleasure to work with Jason for nearly 7 years. He always brought a smile to those around him with his sarcastic humor. Even when falling off the loading dock and tearing apart his knee. He will be remembered as a great colleague, friend, and leader for sure.
