Life Reflections
A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Mrs. Joan Navarra Hill, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, after an extended illness. She was born on May 26, 1950 in Watertown, New York to the late Mr. William Raymond Navarra and Mrs. Phyllis Joan Navarra. The family relocated to Tampa, Florida and she was educated in the Public Schools of Hillsborough County; graduating from Robinson Senior High School. She attended Jones College for further studies.
Joan accepted the Lord as her Savior on October 17, 1993. At the time of her passing, she was a faithful member of Serenity Christian Fellowship under the leadership of Pastors A. Dewey & Carol Britton. She and her husband supported the vision and all endeavors of the ministry.
Joan was joined in Holy Matrimony on August 12, 1994 to Don Hill. In their union, they blissfully combined a blended family. In 1997, Don and Joan relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where she had a successful career; retiring from Raven Transport Company in February 2018 after twelve years of service.
Mrs. Joan Navarra Hill leaves her family and friends to cherish her loving memories. Loving and devoted husband, Deacon Don Hill. Children; Loren Apsey (Harold), Lethean Apsey, Shamekia Sloan (Stephen), Andre Hill (Michelle), Andrew Makoid, Lariee Beaumont, Rachel Beaumont, and Brittany Dixon. Grandchildren; Nya, Jada, Stephen, Avalony, Payton, Aubry, Tyanna, and Brielle. Mother-in-law; Willie Myrl Wright. Siblings; Tarry Johnson (Jim), Cynthia Hager, Daniel Navarra (Susan), Christy Newsome (Clay), Jeannette Hill, Brenda Hill, Rita Hill, Tammy Hill, Ronald Hill, and Charles Ray Patterson. Goddaughter; Keonna Esclavon. Special Friends; Keith and Brandi Griffin, George Searcy, David Searcy, Walter Jenkins, Chancellor Simmons, and the Serenity Christian Fellowship Church Family. A host of nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends. For Keith and Brandy Griffin – Close friend Heartfelt sympathy to the Hill and Navarra family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Mrs. Joan was good friend to our family and I will always cherish our time together.. Wisdom, love, light, strength, and peace is what comes to mind when I think of our beloved Mrs. Joan.
