Judy was born February 02, 1945, in Alexandria Louisiana to Julia Novidean Barrow Todd, and Joseph Audry Todd. Her early years in Waycross Georgia, was in the home of her grandmother Macy Barrow. She cherished this time as she also had her brother Joe, her Aunt Ruth and Uncle Ralph Crussel , Aunt Mary and Uncle Pappi Weir and Uncle Gene.
In her early teens, Judy moved to Jacksonville Florida when her mother Dean married, Johnnie Earl Rowland.
While attending Paxon Sr. High, she met and married Herbert Jordan. She became a mom to William, Gregory, and Joseph. Then shortly afterwards she became a single mother. She attracted the attention of William Drawbond who became smitten, and they married on July 03, 1968. A marriage which celebrated 50 years in 2018
On February 26, 1970, William Drawbond adopted his three sons, William, Greg, and Joseph. Seven years later, was born Travis completing the Drawbond family.
Judy started working for USPS as a city carrier, eventually becoming a Postmaster. Her first Postmaster assignment was at Lawtey Florida, then became Yulee Florida’s Postmaster in early 1980s. Postmaster Judy Drawbond created and implemented the current address grid in use today for Yulee. In April 1990 Judy was presented a Certificate of Stock Award by the Yulee chamber of Commerce. It honorarily deeded to Judy, one percent of all of Nassau County for her major role in bringing local telephone calling with Jacksonville. In the early 1990s she then became Hilliard Florida’s Postmaster where she eventually retired after 38 years of service. Upon the request of Kirby, Judy went on to serve ten years at his business Apex Fabrication in Macclenny Florida.
Judy was a voracious reader, of countless numbers of books. History of our country, local events, family genealogy, tabloids and especially romance novels which gave Judy a lifelong hobby of knowledge, adventure, and escape.
Judy was a member of Woodstock Masonic Lodge Easter Star, along with her mother Dean and sister Carol, and had twice obtained Worthy Matron status.
Judy was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She is preceded by her husband William, mother Julia Novidean Rowland, dad Johnnie E. Rowland, Father Joseph Audry Todd, brother Joseph Todd, and daughter-in-law Susan Gayle Smith Drawbond. Judy is lovingly remembered by her children Herb (Tonjia), Greg, Doug, and Travis (Joan). Sister Carol O’Steen (Kirby). Sister-in-law Betty Jo Todd. Grandchildren Chris (Rachel), Jordan, Matthew, and Jacob. Great grandchildren Ethan, and Evelyn. Nieces and nephews Karen (Kelly), Sharon, Joey and Lee (Jennifer)
A Celebration of Life will be held grave side on March 5th and 11 am, at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park at 7242 Normandy Blvd Jacksonville Florida 32205, with a repass afterwards. Flowers can be delivered March 3rd, and 4th at same address. Donations to fight cancer, or to hospice care is a lovely remembrance.
