Lorna Eugenia Jones, 101 years old was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 3, 1919 to Leroy and Francis Simms. She was one of 6 children: John, Lorraine, Mary, Billy and Bobby. Lorna was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 14, 2021. Lorna was married to Marcus Jones for 66 years prior to his passing. They both had 3 children: Linda Henderson married to Richard Henderson, David Jones married to Lois Jones and Roger Jones. Lorna had 7 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was most known for her love of gardening, cooking and talking. Lorna never met a stranger. Throughout the years, she was a Sunday school teacher at Macedonia Baptist church, visited with the sick and volunteered at Pine Castle where her son lived for a period of time. She also worked at Learners Department store and other boutiques in the Jacksonville area. Lorna is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Richard Henderson, as well as, her sister Mary Simms, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Viewing and Funeral will be held at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Visitation at 10 am and Funeral Services will be at 11 am. Burial following at the Jacksonville Memorial Gardens in Orange Park, Florida.
