Marion Wilbur Wilkinson, 95, died at home in Clay Hill, Florida, on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Born August 5, 1926, in Clay Hill , FL (Clay County), Marion is the son of Jack Leo Wilkinson and “Dumpie” Bell Wilkinson and brother of Joenell Wilkinson Blackwelder and James Curtis Wilkinson. Marion was preceded in death by his wife of almost 72 years, Audrey “Bunny” Olena Williams Wilkinson, on February 5, 2020. Marion is survived by his two daughters, Dr. Mary Elizabeth Wilkinson Dyal (Charles) and Nancy Anne Wilkinson Scott (Steven), 7 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Marion graduated in 1949 from the University of Florida after having served as Staff Sergeant in the 67th Engineer Topographic Company of the United States Army in Japan from 1945-1946. Receiving his degree in chemistry, Marion was employed in the quality control division of Gilman Paper Company in St. Marys, GA, until 1974. Marion served as a deacon and elder in St. Marys First Presbyterian Church. He was also a Kiwanian, and founding member of St. Marys Golf and Country Club. In 1974, Marion joined Basso Chemical Company of Jacksonville, FL, as a consultant and sales representative until his retirement in 1991. Returning to Clay Hill in 1974, Marion served as an elder in the Orange Park Presbyterian Church, later becoming a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. He also served on the board of the Florida Farm Bureau of Clay County and the Clay Hill Community Association. Marion will be remembered for his unselfish love and care for his family, his impeccable integrity and sense of duty, his wisdom and wit, his preciseness, astute management, strength and humility, and above all his overarching love of God.
