Mr. Skip was such a lovely person when my son Matthew was 8 y.o he became a Big brother to him. Use to go jet skiing together and did a lot of recreational things together.. I enjoyed taking care of him when he was in Radiant Healthcare of Orange Park, every day I walk pass his room he said good morning to me,he will be miss ,I hated when he left to go to another nursing home. I give all his family my sympathy and love for them..

I’m so grateful I found my father, but I’m so heartbroken I didn’t get my daddy for my whole life.
I’m so very lucky he opened his heart 100% to me the day he found out.
When I called him 12hr after Ancestry DNA informed me my father was Melvin Boyer and my daughter Megan was able to find what she believed was his phone number.
He answered the phone, I said is the Melvin Boyer? He said yeeeessss! I told him I took a DNA test and got my results last night, it said the man my mom told me was my father was not. Ancestry told me my father is Melvin Boyer. He said “what did your mom say about it” I told him she said she didn’t know your name was Melvin, she thought it was Skip” he said “OH BOY, THAT’S ME”
He called every member of the family and told them to accept me, I was his daughter.
From that day on I spoke to him every day. I went to visit the following month and brought my oldest daughter Kaitlin with me.
Last year I went to visit again just after moving to Arizona and my dachshund Megan and her daughter Aria came from Oregon too. I had planned a surprise trip to visit again on the 14th and I was working on trying to figure out how to bring my son Austin, but he left us unexpectedly one week before I arrived.
I could have been met with a person who wanted nothing to do with what happened in his past but instead God gave me the most wonderful dad ever. I’m also grateful he got to see a picture of his first great-grandson born on the 3rd
