Michael Dwayne Kilgore, 59, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 in Brunswick, GA from complications of Covid-19. He was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Paxon High School, class of 1980. In the 1990’s he moved to Nahunta, GA and married Margaret Yawn Kilgore.
Michael was a lover of history and his knowledge of military war details was incredible. He had many hobbies, but loved collectibles, antiques, old cars and historic memorabilia. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret, that just passed away in August 2021, and his father Harvey Wayne Kilgore. He is survived by his son, David Yawn, his mother, Glenda Kilgore, a sister, Karen Kilgore Smith (Mike) and his grandchildren, Susan Hand, David Hand, Jr., Ashli Holton, April Holton, Darrin Mari, Raegan Yawn, Sophia Hand Zachary Yawn, Henry Hand and a great granddaughter, Bella Ramos. He is also survived by his nephews, Jordan and Brandon Smith and a very close family friends, David and Constance Hand, Jason Highsmith and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, November 22, 2021 at 12:00pm in the chapel of Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl 32221 followed by interment in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
