Robert Hugh Dodd known as Pops passed away peacefully in his home on October 4, 2021. After a long battle with Cancer. He was born August 10, 1936 in Boulogne, Florida the 4th child of Raymond Dodd and Lucy (Johnson) Dodd. He was blessed with 85 years of living. He Served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper after his service he worked for Southern Concrete for several years and later becoming a Contractor, he then seized a opportunity and went into the Movie Business transporting equipment and setting up the sets and wardrobe trailers on scene. After tiring of the extensive travel involved in the movie business he decided to make a change and went to work for the Cargill Corporation in Transportation for the feed mill division where he retired. He was a member of the American Legion post #137 and Veterans of Foreign Wars post 7909 and Disable American Veterans Chapter 38. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond Dodd and Lucy Johnson, brothers, Bill, Frank, Ross and Sister’s Mary and Pastsy and his two daughter’s Susan and Melissa and grandson Bobby. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Mae Cleone Dodd and son Robert Alan Dodd, granddaughters Rebecca Dodd, Lauren Dodd, Taylor Dodd, Alicia Coon, Lisa Taylor, Ashley Martinez and April Simmons. great grandchildren Bobby, Bradley, Christian, Christal, Greg, Jayden, Audrina, Zachary, Katelynn, Brianna, CJ, Mason, Hudson, Brynlee, Marley, Abby and Conner and several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be on Saturday October 9, 2021 at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am. Located at Fraser Funeral Home 8168 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32221. After the service there will be a celebration of life at American legion post 137 5443 San Juan Avenue. All friends and family are invited. The internment will be followed on Monday 11:00 am October 11,2021 the Graveside service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park located at 1437 Memorial Park Road Jacksonville, FL 32205.
