Ronald “Butch” Felts, Sr. (83) went to be with his Lord and Savior, 6:45 am on May 13, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center of Jacksonville, FL.
Ron was born in Portsmouth, OH on September 13, 1936 to Benton and Maydell (Hornell) Felts. Ron married Patricia Moseley of Roanoke Rapids, NC on May 30, 1959 in Winston Salem, NC.
Ron graduated from Piedmont Bible College in 1960. He also received his master’s degree from Appalachian State University. He went into the ministry as a Church planter, starting local Baptist Churches. He served as Pastor in New Jersey and Virginia. Ron went into Christian Education, teaching at the following: Bob Jones University, Tennessee Temple University, Sumter Christian School, Rock Hill Christian School, Trinity Baptist Academy.
Ron worked at Baptist Medical Center until his retirement in the summer of 2014. Ron spent much of his time on Soccer fields, Basketball courts, Baseball {Softball} fields, and Volleyball courts as an official and referee.
Ron is survived by his precious wife Pat, his three children: Pamela Lee (Jack), Ronald Felts Jr. (Joy), Kenneth Felts (Richard); his five grandchildren: Chad Lee, David Lee (Liz), Christina Turner (Josh), Ronald Arthur Felts (Megan), Tiffanie Felts. Also surviving are five great grandchildren: Brianna, Bailee, Avery, Arthur, Mallory.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents and his five brothers and sisters.
