Sophia Ann (Melton) Tuliao, age 60, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside in Jacksonville, FL after a four-year battle with cancer. She was born on June 26, 1960 in Palatka, FL to parents Donald G. Melton Sr and Peggy Melton Farinas. She was a strong woman of faith who greatly loved the Lord. Her faith never wavered during her fight with cancer and she often said, “God’s got me”. Sophia had a gentle soul and loved her family with every fiber of her being. She was an amazing daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was always there for those who needed someone to talk to whether it was for guidance in life, a shoulder to cry on or just someone to share a funny memory with. If she saw a need and was able to fill it, she would do everything she could to make sure that need was met. Her kind heart, smile and laughter will be greatly missed by thosewho knew and loved her. Sophia is preceded in death by her father, Donald Gene Melton Sr. She is survived by her mother, Peggy Melton Farinas, her daughter Sonia (Alfred) Arzuaga, her son Samson Tuliao Jr, her grandchildren Anthony and Maliyah Arzuaga, four (4) sisters and their spouses, four (4) brothers and their spouses, too many to count nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. There will be a viewing at the Fraser Funeral Home located at 8168 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221 on Thursday, May 6, 2021. Family visitation will be from 5-6pm and 6-8pm for friends and family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church located at 8523 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221. There will be a viewing at 8am followed by the service at 9am. Burial service will follow immediately after the service at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens located at 800 Hammond Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221. The funeral reception will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
