Travis Lamar Sweat stepped into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, 29 September 2021. He was born 21 February 1955, the sixth child of J Ward and Thelma Louise Hickox Sweat. He was blessed with 66 years of life. He graduated from Paxon Senior High School and became an Air Conditioning and Appliance technician, working for several major corporations before starting his own company, AAA Appliance. Travis was a hardworking man who loved his family and was a faithful friend always ready to help others. He enjoyed cooking and playing pool and was a loyal Gator and Jaguar fan.
Travis is preceded in death by his parents: J. Ward Sweat and Thelma Louise Hickox Sweat, 1 brother: Andrew Jackson Sweat.
He is survived by his former wife and friend, Karan McGovern. 3 children, 1 son: Jayson McGovern Sr., 2 daughters: Detria (Shauny) McGovern, and Jennifer Starbird (Bryan); 9 grandchildren: Jayson McGovern Jr., Matthew McGovern, Austin McGovern, Shaun McMinn, William McMinn, Madison Snow, Ellla-Lynn McGovern (Deceased), Vittoria Starbird, Kaila Starbird and 1 Greatgrandchild to be born soon; 3 sisters: Willine Logan (Bob), Jeanelle Manuel (Paul), and Cathy Williams (Steve); 2 brothers: J. W. Sweat (Barbara) and Larry Sweat (Sandra), best friend, Bill Bogle, and a great host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation at 10AM, followed by service at 11AM at Church at Sun Coast, 4200 Georgetown Dr. Jax, Florida, 32210. Fraser Funeral Home, Normandy Blvd in charge of services.
